Online courses minimized impact of COVID on education, governor says



Addressing the 37th Convocation of Bharathidasan University, Governor Ravi said: The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is a revolutionary document aimed at creating an India of the dream of Bharathidasan and his mentor Subramaniya Bharathi ” a new India ”- An India leading the world.

He envisions an education system rooted in Indian philosophy allowing the transformation of Bharat into a fair and dynamic knowledge society, he added.

The Governor said that many initiatives have been taken and are being taken by the Prime Minister to make education inclusive and modern. These programs include the Prerarna program to prepare SC / ST students for higher education, the Samriddhi program for the creation of startups, SSPCA – which is the support given to students to participate in overseas completion, Smart India Hackathon and so on.

The Governor also commended the academia of Bharathidasan University with the culture of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), global connection and the spirit of innovation have won titles of Fellow of Science Academies-India and United Uni, and projects funded by national, regional and state bodies.

He pointed out that the Bharathidasan University Entrepreneurship Career Hub (BECH) was registered as an enterprise under the Companies Act 2013. During the year, a total of 34 research projects were funded by various agencies. in the amount of 28.27 crore rupees. It has distributed diplomas to no less than 2,225 graduates in person and to 1.04 lakh of people in absentia.

The governor paid floral tributes to the portrait of General Bipin Rawat. Minister of Higher Education K Ponmudi and Minister of School Education Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi joined him in paying tribute.
