School Districts Temporarily Switch to Online Learning Days Due to COVID-19

(WSPA) – Several school districts are temporarily switching to e-learning days due to COVID-19.

Greenwood School District 50

Greenwood District 50 has announced that Friday January 14 will be a “blue” virtual learning day for the district.

The school district says students and staff will not show up to school. Homework will be posted on Seesaw or Google Classroom for Grades 1-12. Students in K4 and K5 will complete paper packets of independent work.

Spartanburg County School District 1

Spartanburg County School District 1 schools will temporarily switch to e-learning on Thursday January 13 and Friday January 14.

Officials say several schools have reached a critical point where the district is concerned about the ability to provide a safe learning environment for students due to the high percentage of staff who have to self-isolate or quarantine due to exposure to COVID-19. In addition, they are experiencing a sharp increase in student absences throughout the district.

Spartanburg One has said all schools will be closed on Monday, January 17, the public holiday for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. All schools will resume regular in-person teaching on Tuesday, January 18.

Spartanburg County School District 3

Spartanburg County School District 3 schools will temporarily switch to e-learning on Thursday January 13 and Friday January 14.

High Point Academy

According to High Point Academy, they will switch to e-learning from January 12 to 21. In-person classes will resume on January 24.
