What there is to know

The Tulane Green Wave homestand continues as they prepare to face the Alcorn State Braves at 7 p.m. ET on September 10 at Benson Field in Yulman Stadium. Tulane should always feel good after a big win, while Alcorn State will look to right the ship.

The Green Wave was the heavy favorite in their last game, and for good reason. They beat the Massachusetts Minutemen 42-10 last week. The contest was almost over by the end of the third, at which point Tulane had established a 42-10 advantage. Their success was led by the efforts of QB Michael Pratt, who had two touchdowns and 157 yards on 20 attempts in addition to rushing for a touchdown and 58 yards, and RB Tyjae Spears, who had three rushing touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Alcorn State didn’t finish too far behind, but the team still lost 31-27 to the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks last week. Alcorn State led 24-10 at the end of the half but couldn’t hold the lead.

Alcorn State’s loss put them 0-1 down while Tulane’s win put them 1-0 down. A Braves win would reverse both their bad luck and Tulane’s good luck. We will see if Alcorn State manages to accomplish this difficult task or if the green wave continues its momentum.
